Ardgillan Castle – Heritage Window Restoration

At Ardgillan Castle, our work focused on improving the performance of the historic windows while preserving the architectural character of this remarkable heritage property.

The original window frames were carefully restored rather than replaced, helping to retain the traditional appearance and important period details of the building. As part of the upgrade, LandVac vacuum glazing was installed to provide modern levels of thermal performance within a slim glazing profile suitable for traditional and heritage windows.

The project demonstrates how historic windows can be upgraded without compromising their original character. LandVac vacuum glazing helps to reduce heat loss, improve thermal comfort, reduce condensation and improve acoustic performance, while allowing the existing window design and appearance to remain largely unchanged.

The result is a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern glazing technology — preserving the character of Ardgillan Castle while significantly improving the performance of its windows
